Ms. Parchman has an MBA from The Carlson School of Management/University of Minnesota and an undergraduate degree from The Colorado College. She has over 25 years of experience in both the public and private sector with a strong emphasis in finance and marketing. Ms. Parchman has held positions with Norwest Corporation (now Wells Fargo), The Martin Agency and Trahan, Burden and Charles. She has served on children's museum boards as well as her executive tenure with Port Discovery. She was also President of the Board of The Richmond Children’s Museum and a board member of The Minnesota Children's Museum. She has served on the boards of the YWCA Minneapolis, The Boy's and Girl's Club, and is actively involved with the Greater Baltimore Committee, Association of Children's Museums, and Roland Park Country School.
