Group Sales Associate (Part Time)
Port Discovery Children's Museum provides experiences that ignite imagination, inspire learning, and nurture growth through play. We are currently looking for a talented and resourceful individual to be our part time Group Sales Associate . This is a part time position offering approximately 30 hours per week; the schedule will predominately be Monday through Friday.

Summary of Position:
Group Sales Associate will serve as the initial point of contact for many groups that visit the museum and is responsible for upholding the highest degree of customer service. He / she supports the group sales function by cross selling and booking different group visits to the museum. Additional responsibilities include following up on sales leads; customer service; and administrative duties (to include entering client information, filing, copying, mailings). The successful candidate must have the ability to anticipate and respond quickly and effectively and to enact sound judgment in respect to guest needs, questions, and expectations.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • College minded individuals preferred.
  • 1-3 years experience in sales, administrative and/or cash handling required.
  • Computer experience required.
  • Excellent verbal communication required.
  • Cash handling and excellent customer service necessary.

    Program Associate
    Port Discovery Children's Museum has immediate an opening for a Program Associate. Port Discovery provides a creative work environment and the opportunity to be a major contributor to the success of one of the region's leading educational resources. Availability for Saturdays, Sundays and evenings work only. Position offers approximately 20 hours per week. Must be 18 to apply and we require background clearance before hire.

    Responsible for the overall guest experience as it pertains to the programming of the exhibits and the creative environment within the museum. Experience with the public and excellent customer service skills are required. Early childhood experience and/or art or theatre background ideal. Must be able to facilitate informal education with groups of 30 or more children and adults. College students are encouraged to apply.
