Port Discovery defines a community partner as: a group or organization that donates their time and resources to the Museum and commits both when asked. In return, Port Discovery acts as a venue and resource where the community partners can achieve their goals, improve their visibility and reach their constituents.

Bailes de Mi Tierra
"Bailes de Mi Tierra" (Dances from My Land) Mexican folk dance group is located in Baltimore, MD. Their mission is to preserve, promote and present Mexican traditions through its music, dance and folklore. Their vibrant dances, filled with energetic dance moves, accompanied with the lively sounds of Mexican music and colorful costumes, provide a rich representation of their Mexican heritage and traditions. Bailes de Mi Tierra provides dance performances for Port Discovery's Hispanic Heritage Celebration and other cultural events throughout the year.

Baltimore City Health Department - Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program
The Baltimore City Health Department - Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program partners with Port Discovery for Healthy First Saturdays, on the first Saturday of each month, and for special events throughout the year. The Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program Partners teach Port Discovery guests about the dangers of lead poisoning in children, a serious health issue in Baltimore.

Baltimore HealthCare Access, Inc.
Baltimore HealthCare Access, Inc. (BHCA) is a quasi-public division of the Baltimore City Health Department that provides health education, care coordination, eligibility determination for the Maryland's Children Health Program, Primary Adult Care Program and Medical Assistance for Families, and outreach program to the community of Baltimore. At Port Discovery, Baltimore HealthCare Access is the original partner of the Museum's Healthy First Saturdays.
Baltimore HealthCare Access sponsors the Health Corner inside the Oasis, an area where families can go to learn about healthy bodies, foods and teeth. On Healthy First Saturdays, Baltimore HealthCare Access staffs the Health Corner with health educators who engage visitors in activities, take blood pressures and sign up families for health insurance.

Baltimore Sister Cities
Presently, Baltimore has nine sister affiliations: Cadiz, Spain; Genoa, Italy; Gbarnga, Liberia; Kawasaki, Japan; Luxor, Arab Republic of Egypt; Odessa, Ukraine; Piaeus, Greece; Rotterdam, The Netherlands; and Xiamen, China. Baltimore Sister City Committees attend many Port Discovery cultural events including: Xiamen-Baltimore Sister City Committee partners with Port Discovery for our annual Chinese New Year Celebration and Kawasaki-Baltimore Sister City Committee partners with Port Discovery for Asian Pacific American Heritage Day.

Fidos for Freedom, Inc., a therapy and assistance dog training organization, attends every Healthy First Saturday with four to eight owners and their trained dogs. The organization facilitates therapy and assistance dog demonstrations to educate the community on the role of working dogs. Volunteers also teach guests about healthy and safe interaction with dogs. Imagine the surprise of a young child when they see Tiny, a 220-pound English Mastiff lounging on the Museum floor!

Karma Dogs is a 501(c)3 non-profit rehabilitates rescue dogs into therapy dogs. Stop by Karma Dogs Circle Time to read dog stories and visit a Karma Dog! Maryland Public Television (MPT)
Maryland Public Television exists to provide informational, educational and cultural programming to the citizens of Maryland, bringing the best that television has to offer, including 40 hours per week of programs about Maryland and the region, and specials on arts and culture, news as well as public affairs. MPT is one of the top producers nationally distributed programs for the public broadcasting system. Among their best known national programs are: Wall $treet, MotorWeek, In the Footsteps of Alexander the Great, Wimzie's House and Jewish Cooking in America. Beyond the broadcast, MPT works with educational organizations and community groups to help make their television programs more meaningful. They help teachers integrate technology (television, the internet and new digital technologies) into their classrooms.
