Contributions from individuals are used to support the annual operating budget and have a major impact on the financial well-being of the Museum. Donors receive special recognition and are kept informed of Museum happenings. Friends of Port Discovery also receive invitations to special events and programs throughout the year. You are invited to see your gift in action!

A copy of the Baltimore Children's Museum, Inc.'s (t/a Port Discovery Children's Museum) financial statement is available upon written request. Documents filed in accordance with the Maryland Charitable Organization Solicitations Act may be obtained from the Maryland Secretary of State.

Port Discovery provides all children and their caregivers the opportunity to engage in art, science and cultural activities through healthy play-to-learn programming and exhibits. Your gift benefits the Museum’s School and Family Access programs which provide free or reduced admission for children and caregivers from economically challenged communities; children with special needs; and military families.

Port Discovery is committed to providing all children with access to safe, productive play environments regardless of economic status. In the Baltimore Metro Area, over 120,000 families live below the self-sufficiency level. To ensure that these children and families can benefit from the power of play, Port Discovery established the Family Access Program, which provides free admission for economically disadvantaged families. You can make a difference in the lives of these families by providing the gift of play.

A gift of $104 provides a family of four with a year of unlimited access to the Museum.

By taking the Port Discovery Challenge, you can help bring blockbuster traveling exhibits to Baltimore. Imagine the joy and excitement on a child's face when he or she sees a favorite character come to life through a special exhibition at Port Discovery Children's Museum!

Port Discovery is the only museum in the metropolitan area that can provide children opportunities to explore interactive, education traveling exhibits. Yet, during these challenging times, it has become increasingly difficult to host traveling exhibitions, while keeping the cost of admissions and memberships down.

Your gift of $20 or more to the Port Discovery Challenge will support plans for our next scheduled traveling exhibit Curious George: Let's Get Curious (May - September 2014).
