Port Discovery Children’s Museum President Bryn Parchman Named as a 2021 Most Admired CEO

Bryn Parchman Recognized as Most Admired CEO and Inducted into Circle of Leadership

President & CEO Bryn Parchman Talks with Child Participating in Fathers at Play program

Baltimore (September 30, 2021) — The Daily Record has named Bryn Parchman, President & CEO of Port Discovery Children’s Museum, as one of Maryland’s 2021 Most Admired CEOs, and has inducted Parchman into the Circle of Leadership for being recognized as a Most Admired CEO three times.  The Daily Record created the Most Admired CEOs awards program to highlight talented  CEOs from both the for-profit and non-profit sectors across Maryland.   The winners were selected by an outside panel of judges based on professional accomplishments, community service and letters of reference submitted by co-workers, board members and community leaders showing the CEO's leadership and vision.

Parchman has been President & CEO of Port Discovery Children’s Museum since 2003. Under her leadership, the Museum has been recognized as one of the top Children’s Museums in the United States and has provided millions of children and families with opportunities to play and learn, to be curious, to imagine and pretend, to figure out how things work, and to dream.

“I am so honored” said Parchman.  “It has been my good fortune to work with an amazing and talented team of staff and a terrific Board of Directors - as we’ve built Port Discovery into what it is today.  As I prepare to retire after 23 years here, 18 years as President & CEO, I am excited for the future of our work with children and families across Maryland and beyond and for the team that will move it forward.”

"This year's Most Admired CEOs display leadership and vision that is admired by those around them. These individuals were selected for the honor for several reasons, including letters of reference from those with whom they work each day and from staff from nonprofits where they donate their time and talent," said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, senior group publisher of The Daily Record. "They demonstrate innovation, a clarity of vision and a selfless approach to building teams, which makes them admired by many. We at The Daily Record congratulate them for their achievements."

The winners will be honored Nov. 2 at noon at an online celebration. For more information about the winners, sponsorships and tickets for The Daily Record’s 2021 Most Admired CEOs, visit www.TheDailyRecord.com.
