Join us and meet experts from the Consumer Product Safety Commission\, Johns Hopkins Children’s Center Pediatric Injury Prevention Program\, B’More Healthy Babies\, and many more. \nTogether\, we’ll explore how to keep everyone safe while having a blast this summer. Kids will be able to take part in our interactive Safety Town\, where they’ll learn about traffic safety and discover cool gear to stay protected. Plus\, don’t miss Peake\, our adorable Chesapeake Bay Retriever (pup)pet\, whose ready to join in on the excitement and teach us how to stay safe and healthy while playing and having fun outside. We are a small agency with a large mission\, and we work to ensure the safety of consumers every day. \nJohns Hopkins University’s Injury Free Coalition for Kids\nJHCIPN is a collaborative group of faculty and staff from the Johns Hopkins Center for Injury Research and Policy (Center) at the Bloomberg School of Public Health\, the Department of Pediatrics\, the Pediatric Emergency Department\, and the Pediatric Trauma and Burn Program at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center (JHCC). Their tripartite mission is to: Advance research and its application to reduce the burden of injuries among children; Bring evidence-based services and programs to the patients and families of the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center\, the Harriet Lane Clinic (primary care) and the Baltimore community; and Educate families and providers on how to best reduce the risk of injury through injury prevention services\, including consultations\, community outreach\, referrals\, resources and safety products \nEverytown For Gun Safety\nEverytown for Gun Safety is the largest gun violence prevention organization in America— and their partner organizations are building a movement to: register voters\, elect candidates who will govern with gun safety in mind\, demand action from our elected officials\, change how America thinks about gun violence\, and fight for the changes that will save lives. Their primary goals are to support and educate our broader community by researching and supporting survivors of gun violence\, raising awareness and taking action by enacting and implementing smart gun policies. \nB’More Healthy Babies\nB’more for Healthy Babies (BHB) is a Baltimore City initiative led by the Baltimore City Health Department with support from Family League of Baltimore and HealthCare Access Maryland. BHB brings together communities\, organizations\, and resources so that every baby might have the best start possible. This city led innovative initiative works to reduce infant mortality in Baltimore City through programs emphasizing policy change\, service improvements\, community mobilization\, and behavior change.  \nBaltimore City Health Department\nIn collaboration with other city agencies\, health care providers\, community organizations\, and funders\, the Baltimore City Health Department aims to empower all Baltimoreans with the knowledge\, access\, and environment that will enable healthy living. The Health Department has a wide-ranging area of responsibility\, including acute communicable diseases\, animal control\, chronic disease prevention\, emergency preparedness\, HIV/STD\, maternal-child health\, restaurant inspections\, school health\, senior services\, and youth violence issues. \n
