DESCRIPTION:Tis’ the season for a winter break filled with fun and special educational activities from our public programming team!  Port Discovery will be open for extended hours so that children and their caregivers can enjoy a variety of interactive and hands-on activities everyday leading up until our signature event: Noontime New Year. \nWinter Break Hours (December 22nd – 31st)\n\nMonday : Closed\nTuesday – Sunday : 10 AM – 5 PM\n\n\nTuesday\, December 26th\n\nDiscovery Tales – 11 AM : Look\, listen and sing! Gather ’round\, friends. Join us as we sing songs and read stories and the whole family can enjoy.\nDance Party with DJ Wavey Jones – 12 PM & 2 PM : Enter the Playhouse and join a dance party mixed by DJ Wavey Jones. Featuring musical instruments\, props\, and special effects to get kids and adults moving and grooving!\nIce Excavation – 1 PM : Go on a winter ice excavation and find the winter mammals as they are trapped in ice!\n\nWednesday\, December 27th\n\nDiscovery Tales – 11 AM : Look\, listen and sing! Gather ’round\, friends. Join us as we sing songs and read stories and the whole family can enjoy.\nDinocise – 12 PM & 2 PM : Stomp\, chomp\, growl\, and play your way into the amazing world of dinosaurs. An interactive program combining interesting facts with physical movement and dancing. Learn how to be as strong as a dinosaur!\nIce Excavation – 1 PM : Go on a winter ice excavation and find the winter mammals as they are trapped in ice!\n\nThursday\, December 28th\n\nDiscovery Tales – 11 AM : Look\, listen and sing! Gather ’round\, friends. Join us as we sing songs and read stories and the whole family can enjoy.\nCampfire Kids: Winter Sun Fun – 12 PM & 2 PM : Become a Campfire Kid in this interactive show combining live music\, puppetry\, special effects\, and informative tips. Join Mr. Seth and Peake\, Port Discovery’s puppet pet dog\, on their winter holiday vacation! But when they end up at the beach\, help them uncover the fun in changed plans and meeting new friends.\nAdventure Expedition Travel Agency – 1 PM : Join Time Traveler Thomas Tremaine Sawyer as he prepares you to travel back in time to 1922 Egypt.\n\nFriday\, December 29th\n\nDiscovery Tales – 11 AM : Look\, listen and sing! Gather ’round\, friends. Join us as we sing songs and read stories and the whole family can enjoy.\nGee-Pop & The Fizz – 12 PM & 2 PM : A musical\, comedy show featuring everyone’s favorite “Once Upon a Time” grandparents\, Gee-Pop and the Fizz!\nA Flock of Clouds – 1 PM : Explore the water cycle\, the weather and familiar senses with a strolling collection of special\, indoor clouds. Audience participation will bring some sensory based precipitation to guests both nearby and at the base of the SkyClimber.\n\nSaturday\, December 30th\n\nPeake’s on 34th Street: A Holiday Lights Storytime – 11 AM : Peake\, Port Discovery’s puppet pet dog\, wants to see the famous “Miracle on 34th Street” decorations in Hampden’s neighborhood. Journey with him and explore how different communities use lights during the holiday season through songs\, stories\, and dramatic play.\nTales from Time Travelers Society – 12 PM & 2 PM : Renowned time traveler Thomas Tremain Sawyer presents Tales from the Time Traveler Society. Join Thomas in the Playhouse and participate in the story as we act out the many legends and adventures of time travelers.\nTime Crimes: A Time Traveler’s Society Caper – 1 PM :Agents of the D.A.R.K. have stolen the Travellator\, the method in which we travel through time. Their evil intention is to rewrite history for their own greedy benefit.
