THE AMERICAN VISIONARY ART MUSEUM (AVAM) is America's official national museum and education center for self-taught, intuitive artistry. Since its opening in 1995, the museum has sought to promote the recognition of intuitive, self-reliant, creative contribution as both an important historic and essential living piece of treasured human legacy. The one-of-a-kind American Visionary Art Museum is located on a 1.1 acre wonderland campus at 800 Key Highway, Baltimore Inner Harbor. Three renovated historic industrial buildings house wonders created by farmers, housewives, mechanics, retired folk, the disabled, the homeless, as well as the occasional neurosurgeon—all inspired by the fire within. From carved roots to embroidered rags, tattoos to toothpicks, the visionary transforms dreams, loss, hopes, and ideals into powerful works of art.
The Baltimore Museum of Industry celebrates Maryland’s industrial legacy and shows how innovation fuels ongoing progress. Our exhibitions, educational programs, and collections engage visitors in the stories of the people who built Baltimore and those who shape the region’s future. Located in an 1860s oyster cannery on a five-acre waterfront campus, the BMI offers dynamic indoor and outdoor exhibitions, live demonstrations, engaging tours, and hands-on activities for visitors of all ages.

The Maryland Science Center features 14 full-size dinosaurs in Dinosaur Mysteries, an exploration of the day in the life of the human body in Your Body: The Inside Story, Newton’s Alley, with dozens of interactive activities, a national touring exhibit, and the five story IMAX Theater. Other popular attractions include The Kids Room and the world-famous Davis Planetarium.
Founded in 1876, The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is the third oldest zoo in the United States and is internationally known for its contributions in conservation and research. More than 1,500 animals are represented in the Zoo’s varied natural habitat exhibits such as the award-winning Penguin Coast, Polar Bear Watch, the Maryland Wilderness, African Journey and the Children’s Zoo. The National Aquarium is located in the heart of the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland. Situated on two city piers with the Chesapeake Bay on either side, the Aquarium features three pavilions and a living collection that includes more than 20,000 animals from more than 700 species of fish, birds, amphibians, reptiles and mammals in award-winning habitats.
The museum brings Maryland African American history and culture to life through its permanent galleries and educational programs. It also shares the broader African American experience through special exhibitions, lectures and a variety of events. The museum is named for Reginald F. Lewis (1942-1993), a native Baltimore entrepreneur and philanthropist who served as chair and chief executive officer of TLC Beatrice International, the largest U.S. company owned by an African American during his lifetime. The museum also houses a café, meeting spaces, a 200-seat theater and a museum shop.
Berthed in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor for the past 60 years, the 160-year old CONSTELLATION is a U.S. Navy “sloop-of-war” and under custody of the City of Baltimore as a museum ship. The non-profit organization, Historic Ships in Baltimore, a program of the Living Classrooms Foundation, serves as the vessel’s caretaker. CONSTELLATION’s last dry-dock was in 2011.

Everyman Theatre is a professional theatre celebrating the actor, with a Resident Company of artists from the Baltimore/Washington, DC area.
