What are your plans for October 2? We hope you’re planning on grinning or laughing, because it’s World Smile Day!
Have you heard of artist Harvey Ball? Maybe not, but you’ve definitely encountered his most famous work: the smiley face!
Along with inventing our happiest written symbol, Ball also established World Smile Day. Held on the first Sunday each October, the goal of the day is "Do an act of kindness. Help one person smile!” And learn more about World Smile Day here!
This World Smile Day, accomplish Ball’s goal by putting a smile on your face — literally! With our mouths blocked by face masks, it’s sometimes tough to see if other people are smiling or frowning. Make a smiley face face mask, so that everyone will see your joy for the day!
