April 26, 2021 (Baltimore, MD) - Port Discovery Children’s Museum and Maryland 529 have launched a sweepstakes encouraging children to submit photos or drawings of where they dream their journey will take them in the “Start Your Journey” Sweepstakes. The sweepstakes will provide one winner with $529 towards a new or existing Maryland College Investment Plan Account from Maryland 529, plus a Family Membership to Port Discovery Children’s Museum.

“At Port Discovery Children’s Museum, we celebrate curiosity, imagination, and big dreams – and everything that prepares children for their journey in life,” said Bryn Parchman, President & CEO of Port Discovery Children’s Museum. “We are so proud to partner with Maryland 529 to offer this fun and exciting contest and encourage children to not only dream about their journey in life – but also prepare for it through programs like the Maryland College Investment Plan.”

“Maryland 529 is committed to help families start their journey towards saving for higher education,” said Michelle Winner, Maryland 529 Director of Marketing. “We understand that the cost of college these days seems intimidating, but saving for college doesn’t have to be. Through the Start Your Journey sweepstakes, we are thrilled that we can help a local family get a jump start on their college savings.”

The sweepstakes is open to children ages 12 years old or younger as of April 1, 2021. Creations must be submitted by an adult 18 years of age or older (must have parental permission to submit the entry). The sweepstakes begins Monday, April 26, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. ET and all submissions must be received by 11:59 PM ET on  Monday, May 31, 2021. Enter and find details and full contest rules at

The winner will be randomly selected and formally announced shortly after the sweepstakes closing. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Sponsored by Maryland 529.
