Port Discovery Announces 2021 Virtual Discovery Stage Series Performances
Port Discovery Children’s Museum has announced the launch of the 2021 season of The Discovery Stage Series, featuring a variety of interactive, entertaining, and imaginative performances perfect for children ages two and up.
The Discovery Stage Series will take place via Zoom in 2021. Register for the free, virtual performances via the Port Discovery website.
The Discovery Stage Series will run virtually January 17, 2021 through April 17 2021 and will feature seven interactive performances from four different highly respected children’s artists including Diane Macklin: Storyteller, Happenstance Theater’s “Pinot & Augustine”, SOLE Defined, and Parent’s Award Winner Silly Goose & Val. The unique, interactive and educational theatrical performances add to Port Discovery’s existing visual and cultural arts offerings and encourage children to explore theater through hands-on play and learning.
The Discovery Stage Series is supported in part by the Maryland State Arts Council (msac.org).
- Diane Macklin: Storyteller (Sunday, January 17 at 11:00am, Saturday, February 20 at 11:00am & Saturday, March 6 at 11:00am) - Join us for an exclusive and festive performance featuring Diane Macklin: Storyteller! Diane specializes in audience participation, character education and developmentally appropriate programming – making this Storyteller performance perfect for little learners!
- SOLE Defined (Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 1:00PM) - On Saturday, February 27, join us for an exclusive and festive performance featuring an award-winning show that takes an exciting twist on theater dance! SOLE Defined combines tap dance, tapping, roller skating and more to create a conversation through music and movement.
- Silly Goose & Val (Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:00am, Saturday, March 21 2021 at 11:00am) - features a musician awarded with multiple Parent’s Choice Awards. Performances will encourage children to sing and dance along, and will provide opportunities for children to be active participants.
- Happenstance Theater’s “Pinot & Augustine” (Saturday, April 17 2021 at 11:00 am) - Giggle along – and celebrate the simple joys of life with “Pinot & Augustine” – a classic, family-friendly clown duo inspired by the golden age of Circus. Dance along to musical surprises, enjoy theatrical flair, and laugh until it hurts (in a good way!) at surprises from the sublime to the ridiculous: from lyrical melodies on a musical saw to pratfalls and a whoopee cushion!
The Discovery Stage Series will take place via Zoom in 2021! Register for the free, virtual performances via the Port Discovery website.
