Baltimore, MD (January 31, 2020) – Port Discovery Children’s Museum is proud to announce the launch of the 2020 season of The Discovery Stage Series, featuring a variety of interactive, entertaining, and imaginative performances perfect for children ages two and up.
The Discovery Stage Series began in January 2020 and features eight interactive performances from four different highly respected children’s artists including Diane Macklin, Storyteller, Happenstance Theater’s “Pinot & Augustine”, SOLE Defined, and Parent’s Award Winner Silly Goose & Val. The unique, interactive and educational theatrical performances add to Port Discovery’s existing visual and cultural arts offerings, and encourage children to explore theater as both audience members and collaborators.
The Discovery Stage Series is supported in part by the Maryland State Arts Council (msac.org).
Upcoming performances include:
- Diane Macklin, Storyteller (Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 2:00 pm) - Join us for an exclusive and festive performance featuring Diane Macklin, Storyteller! Diane specializes in audience participation, character education and developmentally appropriate programming – making this Storyteller performance perfect for little learners!
- SOLE Defined (Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 2:00PM) - Join us for an exclusive and festive performance featuring an award-winning show that takes an exciting twist on theater dance! SOLE Defined combines tap dance, tapping on roller skates and more to create a conversation through music and movement.
- Silly Goose & Val (Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 1:30 pm, Saturday, March 22, 2020 at 1:30 pm, Sunday, April 19, 2020 at 1:30 pm & Sunday, May 16, 2020) - Val Smalkin presents a fast-paced, humorous 40-minute musical treat with puppets, ventriloquism, dancing, singing, and 100% audience participation. Her Parents' Choice award-winning songs and her Maryland State Arts Council award-winning solo performance are guaranteed to delight tots, tweens, teens, and grown-ups!

Admission to Discovery Stage Series performances is free with museum entry, which is $17.95 for individuals one and up. Members and children under one enter free.
