Port Discovery Welcomes New Board Members in Fall 2021

All aboard the Port Discovery New Board Members train! We're so thrilled to welcome new board members Holly Carnevale, Jeffrey Graham, Randy Guttman, Shantell Roberts, and Daniel Russell to the Port Discovery Board of Directors! This impressive group bring much experience and passion to the Port Discovery Board – read a bit about their backgrounds below:

Holly Carnevale
Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers

Holly joins Port Discovery’s Board bringing experience in accounting, finance and business from her work at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Holly is passionate about community service, having been involved as a Board Member with several organizations including The Angels Network, an organization dedicated to the mission of “helping women help others,” and CREW Northern Virginia, an organization that works to promote professional education, interaction, and networking opportunities among women in the commercial real estate industry.

Jeffrey Graham
Director, Commercial Finance – North America, Pandora

Jeffrey joins Port Discovery’s Board bringing extensive experience in financial planning & analysis, technical accounting and finance from his roles at Pandora, Under Armour and Ernst & Young. Jeffrey holds an MBA from Loyola University Maryland in Business Administration and Management. He also earned a Masters in Accountancy and a Bachelors in Management Information Systems from Wake Forest University.

Randy Guttman
General Partner, Head of Operations, JMI Equity

Randy joins Port Discovery’s Board bringing experience from his roles as Head of Operations at JMI Equity and as a senior associate in the assurance and advisory business services practice of EY. Randy is part of the National Venture Capital Association Growth Equity CFO/COO Group and the University of Maryland Smith Undergraduate Advisory Council. He has served as a board member of the Washington, D.C. & Baltimore chapter of the Private Equity CFO Association, and a steering committee member of ACG’s Private Equity Regulatory Task Force (PERT). He is a certified public accountant and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Accounting and Finance from the Robert H. Smith School of Business.

Shantell Roberts
Executive Director, Touching Young Lives, Inc.

Shantell joins Port Discovery’s Board bringing experience as the Founder and Executive Director of Touching Young Lives, Inc., a nonprofit focused on public education for best practices in infant care. She is also the newest member of the Baltimore City Schools Board of Commissioners. Roberts serves on the

Advisory board of the University of Maryland Department of Pediatrics Center for Infant and Child Loss where she is a dedicated volunteer and support for newly bereaved mothers and an active board member. She was appointed by Governor Lawrence Hogan to the State Child Fatality Review Team and serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Johns Hopkins University Social Innovation Lab. Shantell earned a Master of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts from Stevenson University.

Daniel T. Russell, CPA.ABV.CFF, CVA, CFE, MSA Partner
Director of Business Development, Consulting Business Unit Leader, HeimLantz CPAs & Advisors, LLC

Daniel Port Discovery’s Board bringing experience leading the Consulting Business Unit and serving as a client relationship manager at HeimLantz CPAs & Advisors, LLC. In this capacity, he oversees and performs succession planning, business valuation, and litigation work, acts as an outsourced CFO, and provides various other tax and consulting services for businesses and their owners. Daniel also specializes in preparing expert reports to assist businesses and their owners with succession planning, strategic planning, litigation, family law, and other scenarios.

Daniel has spent time serving as an adjunct professor of accounting at both the University of Baltimore and at Anne Arundel Community College, and, he’s a member of a variety of professional organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), the National Association of Certified Value Analysts (NACVA), and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).

Born in Washington, DC, Daniel has spent most of his life in Annapolis, Maryland. He currently lives there with his wife, Sarah, and their three children, Tyler, Sada, and Tobias. Daniel earned a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Baltimore and a Bachelor of Art in Philosophy and Mathematics from St. John’s College.
