Design your own family coat of arms. Learn how African drumming has been used for communication. Watch a selection of Kamishibai stories. Celebrate how African American music has impacted American music and culture. Help bring stories to life with guest artist Kelsey Joyce. And more!

Join Port Discovery in May for “Once Upon a Book” with activities, events and programs inspired by all things books! Tot Tales: Story time for Toddlers will feature books from the American Library Association’s “Notable Children’s Books” lists. Watch short, interactive puppet cooking shows combining abbreviated versions of famous children’s books, real food facts and pretend food props right in Tiny’s Diner!

April at Port Discovery is Nature Month, featuring nature-focused educational content, Spring Break and Play it Forward. Join us for “Week for the Young Child” for a few activities geared just for little ones. Learn about nature through Robinson Nature Center programs, Wildlife Adventures, a Bird Talent Show from Port Discovery’s own Performing Arts Specialist, and more! See special performances during spring break, like Eric Energy’s magic show and the award winning Silly Goose and Val puppet show.
