Virtual Field Trip | Pre-K-2nd

Join us for an interactive virtual adventure up, down, and all-around Port Discovery Children’s Museum! Participants will be led in a playful exploration through some of our favorite exhibits, where they will be greeted by a set of fun and whimsical characters. Each stop will include a special activity or challenge, exploring concepts like science, health, and music. Shine Your Light! Exploring Lighthouses | 1st-5th

Join Ms. Sarah as she explores the history of the Chesapeake Bay through visiting and discussing lighthouses. Embark on a journey that allows students to see what historical lighthouses look like. Students will learn about the science and engineering used to help navigate ships through the Bay. Lastly students and educators will use an interactive keeper’s log to learn more about lighthouse keepers, and how they record experiments, and review their information. *Program may be eligible for Maryland State Department of Education funding. Aesop's Fables: Fable-ous Stories and Activities | Pre-K -5th

Experience the storytelling power and versatility of one of the world’s most well-known collection of tales! The Great Mummy Mystery | 3rd-5th

Travel with us back to ancient Egypt as we learn about human anatomy and ancient Egyptian culture through solving the Mystery of the Mummy! This pre-recorded program will be accompanied by a downloadable workbook that helps children engage and follow along with the videos’ riddles, codes, and puzzles. As they solve and decipher the different pieces, children will learn about different organs and their functions, as well as their importance in the eyes of the ancient Egyptians. Whatever Floats Your Boat | 1st-5th

Focus Areas: Engineering, History, Physical Science Explore STEM concepts through the building and racing of boats! Traveling and trading along the water is a big part of Baltimore’s history, present, and future. Through play, our young scientists will learn about the forces that help this happen! Together we will take a look at the evolution in maritime travel, from canoes to modern-day shipping containers, by recreating the mechanism of sails and propellers. Participants will gain an understanding of concepts such as density and force, and the fun of engineering! This program will instruct participants to construct the different types of boats and conduct the experiment using everyday objects that can be found in their homes. Space-ercise Part I | PreK-2nd

Focus Areas: Physical Health, STEAM, Performing Arts Ready to get up, move, and explore outer space? Space-ercise is a high-energy, interactive program focusing on the importance of physical health and STEAM education while exploring our solar system. In Part I of this exciting program, the facilitator (lead astronaut) will guide participants (junior astronauts) through a series of fun movement exercises, including dance, balance, flexibility, and strengthening exercises, all tied together in a fun space exploration storyline.
