Using CDC, State and Local Guidelines, we have implemented a variety of procedures to ensure a safe visit for your family – including required advance ticketing, significantly limited capacity, mandatory face coverings for all staff and all visitors ages 2+, leveled up cleaning and disinfecting practices, one-way directional experiences, and a variety of updates to the Museum experience to encourage physical distancing and reduce the spread of germs. Updated Hours, Required Advance Ticketing & Reservations
- Now Open Saturdays & Sundays - Port Discovery is now open to both Museum Members and the General Public on Saturdays from 10 AM to 3 PM and Sundays from 11 AM to 4 PM.
- $2 Community Days - We are currently offering a monthly $2 Community Day (temporarily in place of our past $2 Family Fun Nights). The next $2 Community Day will be announced soon! Purchase tickets today and enjoy Port Discovery for just $2/person. Capacity is limited and the event will sell out.
Advance Tickets are now required for everyone in your party, including members.
Capacity is extremely limited. Please Plan Ahead! To ensure there is plenty of room for play, learning, and safe physical distancing, we have significantly reduced the number of tickets that can be purchased/reserved on any day the Museum is open. We strongly encourage you to purchase your tickets early so that you have the best chance to join us on the day and time that works best for you.
Tickets can be purchased or reserved online at https://tickets.portdiscovery.org/.Fill out all necessary information and waivers and complete your ticket purchase or reservation. Your tickets will be delivered electronically and will be valid for the date you selected only.

Experiences and exhibits at Port Discovery will continue to encourage play, learning, and fun! We have made some modifications to experiences and exhibits to help maintain physical distancing, to prevent the sharing of some items, and to ensure that you will have a safe, fun, and exciting experience. Although you'll notice some modifications to exhibits and programs that we offer, you will still enjoy the memorable and magical Port Discovery experience you are used to. In addition to exploring three floors of engaging exhibits and experiences, you can also look forward to unique activities including Shadow Puppet Theater (where you can make your own shadow puppet play), Shadow Puppet Play Pals (where you can create paper dolls and puppets), and Slinky™ Zone (where you can show off your Slinky™ skills using stairs, ramps, and a built-in Slinky™ racing wall!
Your Health & Safety
In accordance with CDC, State, and local guidelines, face coverings that properly cover your nose and mouth are required for guests ages 2 and older. Face coverings must cover the nose and mouth, be secured with ties or ear loops, and fit snugly against the face. Acceptable examples include surgical masks and cloth face masks (either purchased or handmade). A supply of complimentary surgical masks are on hand for those who arrive without a proper face covering.
We understand that you and your family may need mask breaks while you are here. To take a mask break, exit the Museum and then use your receipt to re-enter with masks in place.
We've leveled up our already robust cleaning practices at the Museum. Staff will be cleaning and disinfecting before, during, and after your visit. While you are here, you'll notice staff members cleaning and disinfecting exhibits, surfaces, toys, and more. You'll also notice Dirty Toy Bins throughout the Museum for your use. High traffic areas and objects will be sprayed with electrostatic sprayers before, during, and after your visit. Loose parts and manipulatives in each exhibit will be removed and replaced with a fresh set at the beginning of each play session. Additional deep cleaning will take place while the Museum is closed to the public. We've added hand sanitizing stations for your use throughout the Museum. We require guests to sanitize their hands upon entry to the Museum, and before and after visiting each exhibit area. We also strongly encourage you to wash your hands frequently throughout your visit.
We ask our guests to please stay "in your bubble" - also known as the group of people you are visiting with! Please maintain a physical distance of 6ft from staff members and guests who are not with your group. We've made a variety of changes to the Museum experience to encourage physical distancing, including significantly reducing the Museum's capacity, creating one-way entrance and exit points, one-way linear paths for exploring the Museum, setting capacity limits for exhibit areas, and more. We have established one-way entrance and exit points as well as one-way linear paths for exploring the Museum. Please follow directional signage and instructions from staff. Limit elevator usage to one family/group at a time, follow one-way signage for entry, exit, Museum stairs, and main floors. Floor markers and reminder signage will be found in all spaces.
We have established exhibit capacity limits for each of our exhibit areas to help encourage and maintain physical distancing. Please kindly observe these capacity limits posted outside of each exhibit. If the area is full, please explore one of our many other exhibit areas and come back to visit later!
Port Discovery Children’s Museum works to provide a safe and healthy environment for all guests. As part of our effort to create this environment, we ask staff and guests to avoid visiting the Museum when sick or showing signs of illness, or if you've recently been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 like symptoms or a positive COVID-19 test result. Upon purchasing or reserving tickets, guests will be required to sign waivers regarding your responsibilities as a visitor, and regarding what the Museum is doing to keep you safe. Upon entry, all guests will be required to complete a health questionnaire. Staff and Museum vendors are also required to complete health screenings before entering the Museum. Yes. Even if you or a family member have received a COVID-19 vaccination, you must continue to follow all of Port Discovery's safety measures including wearing a face covering at all times and staying within your bubble.

Strollers remain welcome at Port Discovery, but we ask that you please keep your strollers with you during your visit unless visiting exhibit areas such as Tot Trails and Wonders of Water.
Outside snacks and drinks are allowed in the Museum but can be consumed only within The Pier (located on Level 1 of the Museum). When using tables in the Pier, please observe physical distancing, and use provided sanitizing wipes to clean tables before and after use.
We've turned off water fountains throughout the Museum, but our refillable water stations remain operational. Feel free to bring a reusable water bottle for your use during your visit.
Free lockers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please use provided sanitizing wipes to clean lockers before and after use.
To help maintain touchless interactions between guests and staff, we must discontinue the use of Port Discovery wristbands.
Pack extra supplies you'll need for your visit, including socks (required for use in the SkyClimber), a change of clothes in case you get extra wet in Wonders of Water, and bottled water. Outside food and drinks are allowed as well but must be consumed only in The Pier (on the first floor)
