Port Discovery is all about learning through play and one of the best times to play is around Halloween. We are gearing up for a wonderful night full of pumpkin-themed games, ghost stories, a Halloween game show and many more! All the activities and crafts were created by our staff and kept you and your little one in mind. Make Rattle Your Bones a safe and fun family tradition to celebrate every year!
There is so much to do on this special night. So, make sure to try it all and when the clock strikes 8:30, the costume parade will begin!
Our Studio Workshop will become a STEAM explorative play space offering different hands-on activities. Includes creature puppet assembly and electricity powered art projects.
Our Oasis exhibit will be themed around bones! Learn about this living tissue through a variety of books, games, puzzles, and toys.
Are you brave enough to venture through this spooky maze? Explore the shadows and see what you might find within!
Come explore Port Discovery’s very own pumpkin patch in The Atrium. Guests can pick one pumpkin per family to take with them.
Farmer Weathersky, Port Discovery’s herder of our sensory “Flock of Clouds” experience, will bring examples of the lights and fire that appear in our atmosphere. Discover their connections to science and folklore on the 3rd Floor and in the Pop Up & Previews exhibit.
Seashell the Mermaid becomes the Sea Witch of Port Discovery in this bubble blowing bonanza! Come and pop some bubbles and watch as Seashell performs some bubble magic!
A family game show with multiple choice and carnival inspired challenges. Select players will test their knowledge and skills for the chance to win take-home prizes. Challenges and questions will be based around monsters and classic Halloween symbols.
Take part in pop-up activities and games all themed around pumpkins.
Your funny bone and Bonesvelt the puppet aren’t real- But the laughs you’ll experience in this short comedy show are! Listen to Bonesvelt’s seasonal jokes while volunteers will help share their own in the Oasis!
Family friendly, interactive ghost stories told at multiple locations inside Port Discovery. You’ll have the chance to meet the Headless Horseman and participate in an activity after listening to a mysterious, noisy, ghostly train and the legend of Sleppy Hollow. Enjoy this pop up in the Pop Ups & Previews exhibit at 6 PM and The Atrium at 8 PM!
Join a cast of characters as we travel around the 1st floor of the museum on a spook-tacular parade!
