Available Positions

  • Play Expert (Part-Time)

As a vital part of the Guest Services Department and Port Discovery team, Play Experts are responsible for providing guests with an excellent, memorable experience, stellar customer service, and supporting the Museum’s mission and educational philosophy. As a member of our team, you’ll support playful learning and discovery through meaningful interaction with children and adults, ignite imaginations, and promote the power of play in children through hands-on experiences. Play experts work directly with guests in one-on-one or group scenarios to lead, educate and facilitate programming and demonstrate the workings of the museum and exhibits.

The museum is open to the public 5 days a week (Wednesdays to Sundays), plus some holidays. We will be open all 7 days a week (Mondays to Sundays) starting in mid-June. We offer visiting families and groups two play sessions per day. Play Expert work shifts are 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.

This is a part-time position, and we are looking for Experts that can commit to work at a minimum of three days a week. Once the schedule is determined, it is the same weekly. We can offer up to 29 hours per week.

We are looking for a highly organized and creative individual to provide administrative assistance for the museum’s Development and Marketing department.

The ideal candidate will be collaborative and flexible, and above all, comfortable in a role that demands a creative, relationship-building mindset, with the ultimate goal of fostering long-term relationships across our communities and partners in order to increase support for the museum. This is an excellent position for an early career professional to gain a broad experience in the areas of fundraising, marketing, outreach, and communications.
