Lane, who has served on the Board since 2017 and contributed his expertise across a variety of committees, brings more than 25 years of experience in creating, leading, and scaling human capital and services businesses.
Chad Lane has held leadership roles in business and industry, most notably as two-time President of Allegis Global Solutions, first assuming the role from 2010-2013, and again in 2016. Under his leadership, AGS saw further expansion into Europe, Latin America, and APAC. From February 2013 to January 2016, he was global managing director of Talent2 and CEO of Allegis APAC. He is a recognized industry leader and active with leading industry associations, currently on the board of directors of multiple companies, advisor to several startups in the financial tech arena including serving as the General Manager at Papaya Global, a global payments technology firm. Lane has served on the Board of Directors at Port Discovery since March 2019.

“We have been so fortunate to have our former Board Chair, Senator Dennis Rasmussen, leading the charge for the past decade,” said Carter Polakoff, President & CEO of Port Discovery. “Both Dennis and I have been working closely with Chad over the past couple of years, and after seeing firsthand his thoughtful leadership and steady approach in the boardroom, we feel incredibly fortunate and honored that he has chosen to accept this position.”
“Working with the Board and the museum’s president, Carter Polakoff, I see this as an opportunity to honor the incredible work that has brought Port Discovery to where it is today, while turning our focus to future-proofing and striving for exceptionalism,” said Chad Lane. “That mindset will guide us as we shape the museum’s next chapter.”
In addition to Lane’s appointment, Port Discovery is also pleased to welcome three new trustees to the Board:
- Mansur Abdul-Malik, Senior Vice President of Development at NHPF, with expertise in affordable housing development, finance, and redevelopment strategy.
- Anthony Egan, Chief Financial Officer of Canopy Team, a licensed CPA with broad experience in finance and entrepreneurship.
- Jennifer Nolley, Founder of Tiny Easel, a creative company dedicated to making art accessible and joyful for children and families.
Looking ahead, Lane will help guide the museum through a series of exciting new initiatives, including exhibit expansions, the growth of the At Play Learning Institute, and the implementation of a multi-year Master Infrastructure Renewal Plan. These efforts aim to strengthen Port Discovery’s role as a statewide leader in playful learning, creativity, and family well-being.
With Lane’s leadership and the addition of new trustees, Port Discovery is poised to continue advancing its mission: to spark imagination, creativity, and connection for children and families across the region.
