Join us for Stuffies Day Out!

Visit Port Discovery on January 17th for Stuffies Day Out! Bring your favorite stuffed toy for a fun-filled day of imaginative play, creativity, and adventure. Kids and families will love learning about the history of the Teddy Bear, competing in our Famous Teddy Bear Guessing Game, creating an art project for their plush friend to take home and more! Plus, enjoy a special visit from Danny Joe from Danny Joe’s Tree House, who will bring some bear-tastic excitement to the day. Whether you’re a stuffed animal lover or just looking for a memorable day of hands-on fun, Stuffies Day Out is perfect for families of all ages. Don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind event featuring your favorite stuffed pal!

Programming this Saturday, January 17th Includes…

Museum Wide Scavenger Hunt | All Day

Explore the day with this museum wide scavenger hunt in the style of the game BINGO. Pick up a card and complete specific tasks. When you have 5 in a row, collect a special teddy bear themed item.

Special Guest: Danny Joe’s Treehouse | 11am

Did you know that Baltimore has its very own local kids’ tv show? Meet the host of Danny Joe’s Tree House and his puppet pals at Port Discovery. Together, we’ll sing songs, dance, and play with big thoughts, ideas and feelings. This program is geared towards young children and their grownups. It promotes and fosters Social Emotional Learning, S.T.E.A.M. Education and Early Media Literacy.

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear Turn Around Fitness Time | 12pm

Inspired by the famous nursery rhyme, this movement session is for people and stuffed animals of all ages! Join our Teddy BEAEROBICS instructor as we strengthen our health through stretching, dancing, jumping, bouncing, and balancing.

Winnie The Pooh Story Time | 1:30pm

Step into the Hundred Acre Wood for a cozy and enchanting Story Time with Winnie the Pooh and friends! Gather round as we read timeless tales of Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and all their adventures. Bring your favorite stuffed pal and enjoy a heartwarming journey filled with friendship, fun, and a little bit of honey!

Science Discovery: Sound & Voice Boxes | 3:30pm

Explore the science of sound with our fun and interactive sound recorder devices! Test out a variety of sound-making, voice-changing, and message-recording items while learning about the STEM behind sound. From how sound travels to the tech that powers your favorite stuffed toys, this hands-on activity lets you discover the magic of sound in a whole new way!
