Make a magical, winter, three-dimensional tree by upcycling a toilet paper tube. Cut and paint it any way you want then display your creation during the festive winter season. For guests 10 and up.
People use candles to decorate their houses for Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa; three wonderful holidays in December. Come to the Studio to make a paper candle collage that you can turn into a card for the holidays. For all ages.
Tis the season for giving. Create beautiful wrapping paper in the Studio Workshop with found objects and special paints to wrap your holiday presents in. For all ages.
Get on board and join your friends at Port Discovery for a singing, swinging story time for toddlers. Listen to books, and songs, along with movement and musical instruments.
Help Port Discovery ring in 2023 with the annual Noontime New Year Event. Participate in hands-on winter-themed activities such as Snow Fun and a Polar Bear Party. Step right up! Now’s your chance to run away and join the circus without leaving home! Try your hand at a host of circus tricks with former Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus performer Gregory May. Throughout the museum, he’ll be juggling, walking on globes and stilts, spinning plates and lassos, and much more!
Stop by our photo area and take family pictures to remember your time celebrating New Year's Eve at the museum. A variety of nautical photo props will be available for kids and their adults.
Join the members of the Time Traveler Syndicate as they gather to celebrate the new year. Learn fun facts about their time period and witness as they make the jump through the Port Discovery time machine. All leading up to 12 noon, where we lower Port Discovery’s first ever New Year’s ball!
