Curious George: Let's Get Curious!
Based on the familiar characters in H.A. and Margret Rey's classic stories and inspired by the animated television series on PBS KIDS, the exhibit presents key concepts in science, math and engineering, which are woven throughout the exhibit.

Activities invite visitors to learn like George through direct experience and problem solving:
  • Play with color, light, and shadow in Curious George's Apartment Building
  • Sort and weigh fruits and vegetables at the Produce Stand
  • Use science skills to putt 3 holes of Mini Golf
  • Build a whirligig and experiment with wind power in The Farm
  • Explore the Space Rocket and more!

Melissa Janssen, M.S., a Research Clinician at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, will present: “Run, Dance, & Play! Establishing Physical Activity Habits to Last a Lifetime.” Physical activity is important to many aspects of child health and development, and early childhood is a critical time for establishing healthy routines and behaviors that will carry over into later childhood and adolescence. We will discuss development of physical skills, some practical tips to encourage unstructured and structured physical activity, and the various benefits of maintaining this healthy lifestyle.

  • The Museum is open from 12 pm - 5 pm
  • Tickets are limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Tickets cannot be purchased online.
  • Expect long lines and dress appropriately for the weather. Doors will open at 12 pm.
  • If you prefer to avoid crowds, please come visit us on another day.

Evening Adventures
Experience an evening of private, quality, family play time and museum exploration without the crowds! Join us from 6 pm until 9 pm for an Evening Adventure and enjoy:

  • ExerKid Games: virtual bike races, electronic T-Wall, snowboarding, and iDance
  • Unlimited play in all of our exhibits
Members: $20 per person
Non-Members: $25 per person.
Children under 2 are free.

$7 parking is available at Harbor Park Garage. Pick up your parking validation at the Box Office.

Talking About Tots
Meghan Hinderer, an Occupational Therapist at the Kennedy Krieger Institute will present: “Motor Milestones:  How to enhance your child's gross and fine motor skills through play”. Attendees will learn about fine motor and gross motor milestones for infants and toddlers.  Parents will learn strategies to encourage motor development through play and exploration of their environment and how successful participation in motor activities can impact engagement and attention.

Create festive art work with Port Discovery’s spin art machine!

Curious George Scavenger Hunt (with prizes):
