Guest Services Manager

As a vital part of the Guest Services Department and Port Discovery team, the Guest Services Manager leads the day-to-day Guest Services operations and mentors the Guest Services team in providing guests with an excellent, memorable experience, stellar customer service, and supporting the Museum's mission and educational philosophy. As a member of our team, you'll support playful learning and discovery through meaningful interaction with children and adults, ignite imaginations, and promote the power of play in children through hands-on experiences.

The Guest Services Manager leads the day-to-day Guest Services operation of the Museum including scheduling, school and camp group visits, exhibit preparation, exhibit maintenance, and safety of the museum. This includes the supervision and daily mentoring of the Guest Services Supervisor, Assistant Guest Services Supervisors, up to 40 part-time and seasonal Museum Experience Associates, and Housekeeping staff.

Part Time Museum Experience Associate

As a vital part of the Guest Services Department and Port Discovery team, Museum Experience Associates are responsible for providing guests with an excellent, memorable experience, stellar customer service, and supporting the Museum’s mission and educational philosophy. As a member of our team, you’ll support playful learning and discovery through meaningful interaction with children and adults, ignite imaginations, and promote the power of play in children through hands-on experiences.

Port Discovery is seeking individuals who are:

· Energetic, enthusiastic, creative, dependable and flexible

· Passionate about play and making a difference in children’s lives and the community

· Comfortable engaging with parents and children of multiple age groups

· Calm under pressure and have excellent communication skills

This is an entry-level position, with a starting rate of $11.00 per hour. The position offers up to 29 hours per week; we can provide convenient schedules and shifts for college students.

Part-Time Box Office Associate

We are currently looking for talented, friendly and outgoing Box Office Associates This is a part time position offering up to 29 hours per week, which requires availability to work on SATURDAYS and SUNDAYS.

The Box Office Associate will serve as the first point of contact for all guests who visit the museum and is responsible for upholding the highest degree of customer service. Responsibilities include greeting and directing guests, selling museum admissions, as well as maintaining and updating the ticketing software database.  We are looking for someone that is outgoing, likes interacting with people, and has good attention to detail.  Additional responsibilities will include soliciting and managing group sales via the phone.  The successful candidate must have the ability to anticipate and respond quickly and effectively and to enact sound judgment in respect to guest needs, questions, and expectations.

Part-Time Housekeeping Associate (Seasonal)

Port Discovery Children's Museum is looking for responsible individuals to be our part-time Housekeeping Associates.

The Associate is responsible for the cleanliness, upkeep, and thorough deep cleaning of all areas within the museum facility. The objective is to provide a safe, clean, and comfortable museum environment for guests and employees.  The successful candidate will have at least one year of relevant experience, good communication skills, can follow instructions, and takes pride in being part of our team!

The position is seasonal through Labor Day, offering approximately 29 hours per week.

We have two shifts available:

  • Day - 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • Evening - 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm
