Special Events at Port Discovery
Tired of the same old routine? There are SO many fun things to see, do, and explore at Port Discovery! In addition to our daily programs, you’ll find fun family events like Set Sail for School, National Ice Cream Day Celebration, Winter Break, Noontime New Year, and so many more happening throughout the year at Port Discovery!

February 9 - July 4: Playful Cities Challenge
We invite you and your family to dream big, build boldly, and share your ideas of how to make Baltimore a more playful, welcoming space for everyone! You can join us in Brick City - our Lego themed exhibit, which was created as part of our commitment to bringing playful learning to children in Baltimore and Maryland alongside this challenge, but we also encourage you to build your challenge submissions at home!
March 15: Sensory-Friendly Sundays
Port Discovery’s Sensory Friendly Sundays provide Museum access to families who would benefit from a sensory friendly experience and quieter setting at Port Discovery two hours before opening to the general public.
March 16: Community Day
Visit Port Discovery for just $10 per person and enjoy 3 floors of fun, plus special performances and activities from our Learning & Visitor Experience Team and Port Discovery Staff!
March 27: Play it Forward 2026
Join us on March 27, 2026 for an out-of-this-world experience at this year’s Play It Forward, Port Discovery’s adults-only signature fundraising gala, that celebrates the importance of purposeful learning with play.
April 2-17: Spring Break at Port Discovery
Make this spring break one to remember at Port Discovery! From April 2-17, Enjoy garden-themed exploration activities, creative art projects, engaging stories and much more that is sure to bring joy and create lasting memories.
