Special Events at Port Discovery
Tired of the same old routine? There are SO many fun things to see, do, and explore at Port Discovery! In addition to our daily programs, you’ll find fun family events like Set Sail for School, National Ice Cream Day Celebration, Winter Break, Noontime New Year, and so many more happening throughout the year at Port Discovery!

February 9 - July 4: Playful Cities Challenge
We invite you and your family to dream big, build boldly, and share your ideas of how to make Baltimore a more playful, welcoming space for everyone! You can join us in Brick City - our Lego themed exhibit, which was created as part of our commitment to bringing playful learning to children in Baltimore and Maryland alongside this challenge, but we also encourage you to build your challenge submissions at home!
June 5: $5 First Friday Fun Night
The first Friday of the month June through September the museum will extend its hours to 8pm. From 5pm-8pm admission will be at a discounted rate - and June's first Friday Fun Night, June 5th, will have a special $5 discounted admission from 5pm-8pm to celebrate the start of summer!
June 6: Pride & Joy
Let's celebrate love, joy, and being your true self at Pride & Joy - a day where every family shines! On June 6, Port Discovery invites you to a fun-filled day packed with creativity, connection, and community. enjoy hands-on activities, performances, and plenty of playful surprises, in a space where all are welcome. Let's kick off June with pride, laughter, and love!
July 18: National Ice Cream Day
Get ready to chill out and scoop up some fun on July 18th for a delightful, sweet treat extravaganza to celebrate National Ice Cream Day. We’ve churned up a day full of sweet, ice cream-themed activities, games, and art projects that will delight kids and parents alike!
July 25-26: Play like a Pro
Gear up for a weekend of sports and fun at Play Like a Pro Weekend! Explore interactive games, hands-on activities, and exciting challenges that celebrate the world of sports and physical activities. From learning about Baltimore athletic traditions to testing your skills and teamwork, it’s a winning experience for kids and families of all ages!
